Arte y parte, a modern and contemporary art magazine, was founded in 1996 by Miguel Fernández Cid, who acted as publisher and director of the magazine for the first three years. As of issue no. 21, the baton was passed to Fernando Francés, owner and publisher who, alongside Fernando Huici as director, ran the magazine until July 2012. At this point in time, coinciding with the release of issue no. 100, the magazine was purchased by José María Lafuente, with director Fernando Huici still at the helm. Since its outset, Arte y parte has established itself as one of the strongest publishing proposals there are on the subject of plastic arts.
Its convenient book-like format, painstaking editing process and the thoroughness with which its topics are addressed make it an essential tool for keeping abreast of the reflections revolving around the art of our times, and offers readers an overview of the exhibition scene in Spain, Europe and America. The magazine is issued on a bi-monthly basis, with six issues per year. Moreover, it hosts a website that showcases and promotes the magazine while giving users an in-depth insight into the publication.
